Why do we need data?
We need data to understand things better and make choices.
There are 30 cupcakes at a party. If 10 cupcakes are chocolate and the rest are vanilla, how many vanilla cupcakes are there?
If 10 are chocolate, then 30 minus 10 equals 20 vanilla cupcakes.
A bag of apples costs 50p, and Lucy buys 4 bags. She pays £2.00.
4 bags at 50p each means Lucy pays 4 x 0.50 = £2.00, which is correct.
