Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Dailulu ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of parents and children who use our service. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

1. Who We Are

Dailulu is an educational platform that provides daily tests for children aged 4-13. Parents create accounts and manage their children's profiles. Children do not create accounts directly.

2. Information We Collect

From parents:

  • Name and email address (via third-party sign-in or email)
  • Profile information provided during sign-in

From children's profiles:

  • Display name and year of birth (entered by the parent)
  • Test results and progress data
  • Streak and activity data

Automatically collected:

  • Device type, browser type, and operating system
  • Usage data (e.g. pages visited, session duration)

3. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data under the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide and operate the Dailulu service, including creating accounts and delivering learning activities
  • Legitimate interests — to personalise learning content, track progress, maintain the security of our service, and improve the app, where these interests do not override your rights and freedoms

We have assessed that our use of legitimate interests is appropriate given the limited and low-risk nature of the data we collect (such as a child’s display name and year of birth).

4. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and personalise the Dailulu service
  • To tailor learning content based on age and progress
  • To track performance, progress, and streaks
  • To communicate with parents about their account
  • To maintain, improve, and secure our platform

We do not sell personal data. We do not use children's data for advertising or profiling.

5. Children's Privacy

We take children's privacy seriously and design our service to comply with child data protection laws.

  • Children do not create accounts directly
  • A parent or guardian must create and manage their child's profile
  • Only minimal data is collected (a display name and year of birth)
  • Children cannot share personal information publicly or interact with other users

Parents may review, modify, and delete their child's data directly within the app at any time. To request changes to data that cannot be edited in the app, contact us at hello@dailulu.com.

6. Data Sharing

We only share data where necessary:

  • Authentication providers (e.g. Google) — for secure sign-in
  • Service providers (e.g. hosting, infrastructure, analytics) — under strict confidentiality agreements
  • Legal authorities — where required by law

We do not allow third parties to use children's data for advertising.

7. International Data Transfers

Some service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom. We use providers who maintain appropriate data protection standards, including Standard Contractual Clauses where applicable.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our service. You may delete your account and all associated data directly within the app at any time.

9. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Request data portability

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@dailulu.com.

10. Cookies

We use only essential cookies required to keep you signed in and maintain secure sessions. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

11. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

  • Encrypted connections (HTTPS)
  • Secure authentication via OAuth and passwordless sign-in
  • Access controls and limited data access

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice on our website.

13. Contact Us

If you have any questions about this privacy policy or your data, please contact us at hello@dailulu.com.
