1/3 of 12 is 4 cars, because 12 divided into 3 equal groups gives 4 in each group.
A jug contains 3/4 of a liter of juice. If Jason drinks 1/4 of a liter, how much juice is left in the jug?
Starting with 3/4 liter and drinking 1/4 liter leaves 2/4, which simplifies to 1/2 liter remaining. The other options do not correctly subtract the fractions.
A dessert recipe needs 1/8 of a cup of honey. If you plan to make the dessert 4 times, how much honey do you need in total?
Multiplying 1/8 by 4 gives you 1/2 cup of honey needed for all 4 desserts.
If a pizza is cut into 8 equal slices and I eat 3 slices, I have eaten 3/8 of the pizza.
Eating 3 slices of an 8-slice pizza means you have consumed 3/8 of it, which is correct.
