The total voltage is the sum of the voltages from all batteries: 3 x 1.5V = 4.5V.
You're making toast for breakfast and notice the heating element inside the toaster glowing red. What is this red glow caused by?
The red glow is caused by electric current flowing through a resistant wire, which heats up and emits light. This is how electrical energy is converted into heat energy in a toaster.
Using a battery to power a toy car means the car has both a power source and a complete circuit.
The battery provides power and together with the circuit, it allows electricity to flow to make the car move.
