Tom has a box of 48 crayons. He wants to share them equally with 6 friends. How many crayons will each friend get?
Tom can give each friend 8 crayons since 48 divided by 6 equals 8.
A parking fee is £2.50 per hour. How much do you pay for 5 hours?
Calculate the total by multiplying the hourly fee by hours parked: £2.50 × 5 = £12.50.
If you have a bag of 12 sweets and you eat 5, you will still have more than 7 sweets left.
Eating 5 sweets from 12 leaves you with 7 sweets, not more than 7.
